What’s There to Do This Summer in Sarasota?

Since much of our mission involves building awareness for Sarasota businesses, we thought we’d show you which ones provide fun summer opportunities. There are a ton of things to do in Sarasota.

Things to Do in Sarasota

Check out some of these options to get just the tip of the iceberg. For simplicity, we’ll break it down into popular restaurants, hotels, nature sites, and golf courses.

Restaurants

We could spend 10 pages going over all of Sarasota’s restaurant options. There’s a little of everything depending on what you enjoy most.

For pizza, consider giving Asaro’s Pizzeria Ristorante a try. They do an amazing job with their authentic New York-style pizza, along with plenty of other Italian favorites like baked pasta, heros, and more.

Then there’s Old Salty Dog, which has multiple locations. You can bring your own pets, and enjoy a hot dog or two. The reason it’s called a “Salty Dog,” is because they batter and deep fry it with onions, cheese, and mushrooms. It’s not your garden-variety hot dog.

There’s plenty of ethnic variety, too. Bangkok Restaurant is the area’s best Thai place, Columbia is the spot for Cuban food, and don’t forget to grab a nice french pastry at C’est la Vie. You can even get traditional Amish-made food from Yoder’s

Hotels

We also have no shortage of relaxing places to rest for the night in Sarasota. You have the basic options like Quality Inn, premium places like the Ritz-Carlton, and historic novelties like The Banyan House.

If you came to Florida for RVing, there’s plenty of room for that as well. Sun Outdoors Sarasota is an RV park full of amenities like pools, a fishing lake, RV hook-ups, and more.

Nature

Florida is home to the beautiful Everglades, alligators, and nice beaches. We also have gorgeous outdoor garden locations. You can find tons of tropical flowers and towering banyan trees when you visit The Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. Sarasota Jungle Gardens is a bunch of fun for children. Take them there to check out turtles, alligators, wildlife, and lots of exotic fauna.

Also, if you’d rather take a break from the sun, you’ll enjoy a myriad of museums and aquariums like the Mote Marine Laboratory.

Golf

Folks love to golf in Sarasota, FL. That probably doesn’t surprise you since this is a popular retirement spot and leisure destination. You can golf and feed gators simultaneously at Smuggler’s Cove Adventure Golf. We have mini golf as well at several places like Evie’s Miniature Golf on Bee Ridge Road, as well as the newest addition to the area, PopStroke! We highly recommend you check out this family-friendly entertainment spot, open 9am to midnight every day of the week.
