Start Planning Your Sarasota NYE Celebrations Today

We’re blessed to live in a gorgeous area, optimal for New Year’s celebrations that don’t involve standing outdoors in freezing temperatures at midnight (like our poor friends up north).

No, Sarasota offers the ideal atmosphere for hours of festive fun with our NYE Pineapple Drop in the downtown area, along with several other opportunities. As business leaders in the SRQ community, we know the value of hard work and recreation (as both are indispensable).

So, with that in mind, here’s a glance at west Florida’s most exciting places to usher in 2024.

Sarasota New Year’s Eve – Pineapple Drop

In New York they drop the “ball,” whereas in Sarasota we drop pineapples to kick off the new calendar. We invite you to make yourself at home with us with amusement rides, games, and more at Five Points Park. If you’re after live music instead, then there’ll be plenty of terrific tunes, food, and drinks at the corner of Main Street and Lemon Avenue.

Don’t forget to hop over to Marina Jack, near Sarasota Bay, if you want the best seats for fireworks once the pineapple drops. These festivities begin as early as 1 p.m. on December 31st, and carry on for as long as you remain awake with us.

New Year’s Eve at Waterside Place

Beginning at 6 p.m, Waterside Place is hosting its own New Year’s party with the services of DJ Truth. Go there to enjoy a brisk evening of music with the chance to tour several great food trucks (including Shula Burger and Impasto).

Also, since it wouldn’t be NYE without great drinks, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to sample premium food dishes and the tremendous beer selection from Good Liquid Brewing.

New Year’s Eve Sarasota Bayfront Fireworks Spectacular

Like we said, there will certainly be fireworks on the beach this year, as always, for your viewing pleasure in Sarasota.

Our sources tell us that Marina Jack and Bayfront Park are the best spots to scope out everything at midnight. The former requires reservations, so be sure to secure those in advance. Marina Jack is also partnering with Suncoast Charities for Children to organize the fireworks, making it a marvelous sky display and charitable promotion altogether.

All proceeds, beyond whatever they need to cover display costs, will go to support disabled children.

Those are three outstanding places you should visit if you want to get the most out of NYE festivities in our area. Who knows? You might spot one or two of our business partners at one of them.
