Enjoy Year-Round Sunshine in Florida

Sunshine lovers know Florida is still the best place to go anywhere in America. While we’ve had our “cloudiest” winter in over 80 years, even our least sunny days exceed the lower luminosity of every northern state. Plus, there’s plenty to do outside whenever you visit gorgeous locations like Sarasota, Bradenton, and Siesta Key.

Places to Go & Things to Do in the Sarasota Sunshine

  1. Visit The Bay Park – Everyone around here knows this 53-acre property is one of better spots to enjoy a warm afternoon, especially if you have children. That’s because there’s plenty of recreational opportunity with everything from pickleball and kayaking to nature walks and evening music concerts.
  2. Buy Goods at the Farmers Market – There’s no such thing as a thriving community without a bountiful farmers market, and we’re no exception. Our community has more than one, but the Sarasota site has been around since the 1970s, and offers an array of fresh goods and produce every Saturday of the year.
  3. Try Some Surfing, Paddle Boarding, or eFoiling – We’d be remiss not to mention the litany of watersports activities you should try when you move close to the beautiful Gulf Coast. You might already know about surfing, kayaking, and paddle boarding, but some of our industrious neighbors also offer sessions involving the new eFoiling activity. This literally allows folks to fly across the water on an electric-powered surfboard.
  4. Explore Outdoor Festivals – This area also hosts plenty of outdoor art and civic festivals all throughout the year. There’s something for almost any niche or culture. On March 9th, for example, there’s an Irish Celtic Festival in Lakewood Ranch, a fantastic way to start St. Patrick’s Day early. Children might appreciate the EGGstravaganza coming up on March 23rd at the always vibrant Waterside Park.
  5. Go Somewhere for Outdoor Dining – Here’s an idea that takes very little preparation because you have so many options around the beach. TripAdvisor mentions a few dozen restaurants, well worth your consideration, including Another Broken Egg Cafe, Marina Jack, and Arcade Monsters (for food and gaming at Lido Beach).
